Interactive Physics

Interactive physics is a simulation programme that can be used like an animated blackboard. Because it works by applying the theory we are teaching in this course it always does what you expect. This is a great change from a lot of physics demonstrations that sometimes do things we don't expect. If you can draw in word then you can use Interactive Physics its very simple and intuitive. If you use a SMART board then you can use IP any time you want to draw something that is animated e.g. A ball being thrown. The nice thing about using IP rather than real life balls is that you can replay the motion slowly, display the vectors showing acceleration velocity and forces, display graphs representing the motion. Other features that make IP better than the real world for demonstrating the simple models we are teaching is the possibility to remove air resistance, make collisions perfectly elastic and even switch off gravity.
