you tube is one of a number of free video hosting websites. It contains alot of funny and interesting home videos and also many videos illustrating physical phenomena. If you have a projector (and preferrably SMART board) in your classroom you can pull up short clips from youtube whenever relevant. For example if you are teaching about doppler shift you can show a short clip of an ambulance driving down a road or a plane breaking the sound barrier. Here are a few examples. You have to have a fast internet connection if you are going to connect live. To download videos from you tube simply write kiss in front of youtube on the URL and you'll be taken to a download site. |
