Practical 0 An Introduction to Data Analysis and Uncertainties
Introduction
This practical is an introduction to processing data and calculating uncertainties using the results of practical 00. It is often difficult to know what the uncertainties in a measurement actually are especially if an electronic device is used, for this reason students are asked to repeat one of the reading several times, the uncertainty can then be found from the spread of values obtained. Students are given instructions on how to process data using excel, propagate errors and draw a graph including custom error bars and a best fit lines using "graphical analysis".
